Baked Table
Collaboration with pastry chef Lionel Bethaz at Domestic Bakery
for the installation ‘Plates for Soulmates’ in Valerie Traan

Redefining baking as a traditional craft, andere monjo collaborated with master pastry chef Lionel Bethaz in the renown Domestic bakery.
Using flour and water as basic ingredients, this installation challenged the material quality of bread to produce textiles, ceramics and table wear. The pieces were left to dry out at room temperature to achieve both delicacy and tempting tactile effects as fabrics would do to table clothes or clay would do to plates.. understanding food ingredients as design materials.
This project was part of ‘Plates for Soulmates’, 15 delicious installations presented in Valerie Traan Gallery.
